What does fungicide do?
Fungicide helps protect your lawn from damaging fungal diseases. It works in two ways: by preventing fungus from developing in the first place and by treating existing outbreaks.
Why is fungicide needed?
Hot, humid weather creates the ideal environment for lawn fungus to spread. A well-timed fungicide application helps prevent fungus from taking hold and can stop existing disease from spreading. If your lawn is already showing signs of stress or damage, fungicide can aid in recovery and help restore its health.
What does lawn fungus look like?
Fungal damage isn’t always obvious at first. It can show up as small brown spots, discolored rings, or large thinning patches across your lawn. If you’re noticing unusual or irregular patterns in your lawn, it may be a sign of fungus.
Is fungicide safe for my lawn?
Yes. The application is safe for all turf types and targets fungal activity without harming your grass. It’s effective whether used preventatively or as a treatment.
When is the best time to apply fungicide?
Timing varies from one season to next, as it depends on environmental conditions. Fungicide is most effective when applied before or during periods that promote fungus growth, such as when lawns are under stress from moisture or heat. It can also be applied at the first sign of visible symptoms.
Will the damaged areas of my lawn grow back?
Often, yes. Once the fungus is treated and conditions improve, damaged areas can recover and fill back in, especially with the support of a proper fertilizer program. That’s why we generally don’t apply fungicide unless a fertilizer program is in place. In more severe cases, overseeding may be needed to fully restore the lawn.
Can I add fungicide to my current lawn care program?
Absolutely. Fungicide is a specialty add-on that complements your fertilizer program and enhances your lawn’s overall health and resilience.
